Taxidermy
Today
The
modern taxidermist is an artist, far removed from the stigma
of stuffed animals. The specimen is modelled onto an anatomically
correct sculpture in a life like pose. Most bird and animal
commissions are road casualties or have died of natural causes.
No animals are killed for the purpose of taxidermy and we
will not accept illegal birds or animals, which do not satisfy
the strict standards required by the DEFRA.
Models
& Replicas
We
create wildlife displays to specific requirements, these include
reproductions of all coarse and game fish, sailfish, shark
and marlin. These are a perfect finishing touch to a tradional
country home or interior design.
Handling
of Specimens
Place
the specimen into a bag and freeze immediately. Please keep
a note of place, date and where it was obtained. Photographs
of fish after capture are helpful, but not vital. Refrain
from excessive handling, keep flat and do not gut or wash
the specimen.
